Chopin, ow.

I know I used to be able to play the Prelude in D Flat, because I remember it and parts of it are coming back to me quite quickly - like those chord progressions in the left hand after the key change. They're a bitch to play smoothly, but they came back to me with little difficulty.

Until I got to the third page.

HOLY SHIT that's a big stretch! Augmented ninths with repeated G#'s in between, at forte??? And yet I know I used to be able to play it.

Which means I can play it again - if I don't crack a tendon or tear a muscle trying to relearn it too fast.

Obviously, I'm trying to mix my mastery of chord progressions and fake book lore with a renewed mastery of the classical forms I've always played. I need something else to wow my students with (though realistically, this isn't it - the low notes are concentrated on the worst-tuned notes on the school piano.)

I still need a music icon, preferably a piano icon.
