Just because something can be done does not mean that it should be done. The reasons for doing it matter. The coalition could have pulled this stunt anytime during the last Parliament; the fact that they chose to do so only when their finances were threatened looks really, really bad.

I'm vaguely concerned that this might all be a cunning plot on Harper's part.
