It depends on a lot of factors how much sex is a part of married life. I speak from experience when I say that the estimate I read a few years ago of twenty minutes a week is rather high in many cases. ;)

More to the point, many people have suggested the civil vs. religious union idea, and the only people still unhappy with it are the churches. They don't want to give this up, but they're having a good time moaning and groaning about the injustice of it all.

I think we need to completely rewrite family law to reflect civil marriage contracts. I'm not sure exactly what form that would take, but at some point it will have to happen.
